Ladies On The GO
You may have heard mention of a new UMW group at Abernethy over the last few months, Ladies On The G.O.
Ladies On The G.O. (God and Outreach) is about fellowship and mission. We started out small, but finished strong this first year! We have five active members and have participated in two large mission projects, Susan G. Koman’s walk for breast cancer and sponsoring a child with Christmas. We meet once a month, typically on the third Saturday of the month at 5:30 in the afternoon. Each member of the group takes turns hosting meetings. Our meetings are a time for fellowship, fun and eating good food. We try not to take ourselves too seriously! Our goal this upcoming year is to participate in three community mission projects, one in the spring, fall and winter. We are also planning a fun summer event. We hope to be able to organize a long weekend beach retreat for summer or early fall.
