Learn about some of our UMW groups:
Abernethy Methodist Church formed a local unit of the United Methodist Women in 1947, and though we may have changed over the years our purpose remains the same - We are a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
We welcome all women of the church to participate in our local unit. Our groups meet at different times to meet the needs of your schedule.
The J.O.Y. Band co-chaired by Martha Lowe and Sharon Erwin meets 4th Thursday each month except January & February at 6:30 p.m. location rotates among members.
The A.M. Group chaired by Alice Hoffman meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
The Ladies on the G.O. - co-chaired by Ashley Dover and Dana Phipps; check out their page for details of this group of young women leaders of UMW!
We are excited about the work God has planned for us and we hope you will join us in making it a memorable year for Abernethy UMW!
